FIREFIGHTERS were called to a caravan fire early on Saturday morning.
Two engines from Maldon went to the site of the static caravan at 5.50am.
They found the caravan at Goldhanger Road, Heybridge, was "100 per cent alight."
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used one jet hose reel to extinguish the fire by 7am.
The Ambulance Service was called to treat a woman and a child who had suffered smoke inhalation.
A joint fire service and police investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
