Nice veterans win for Bob
The Forrester Park veterans’ competition was a singles Stableford which attracted 68 entries.
The winner was Bob Nice with 39 points from Ron Adlington, with 38.
Stuart Wilson beat David Ayres, on countback, for third place, both with 37.
Dennis Morley was the best of five players on 36 points to take fifth.
The men’s team failed to take advantage of a home draw in the Mail on Sunday team competition and were beaten 3-2 by Gosfield Lake.
The ladies played the sixth round of their 12-hole winter league which was won by Chris Davis, with 23 points, from Lorraine Wilson, 21, and Jane Collier, 20.
Maggie Laws was the winner of the EWGA medal and will be the club representative in the region competition.
