A piece of Maldon’s heritage has come in from “the wild”.
An old fogman’s hut, dating from when Maldon had a train line, which closed in 1966, has been restored to Mangapps Railway Museum.
The hut, which would have been used by rail workers to signal to trains when oil-lit semaphore signals had been obscured by falling snow or fog, was discovered on the former railway 200 metres from the remains of Langford and Ulting station three years ago, well hidden by undergrowth.
