Four horsemen which are turning heads in central London as they rise out of the grey Thames river were created in Heybridge.

Eco-artist Jason deCaires Taylor, based in the Canary Islands, spent six weeks working in a warehouse forming the four sculptures, which collectively weigh 40 tons.

The installation, named The Rising Tide, was transported by lorry and barge to its watery home at Vauxhall Embankment in the Thames.

The horses, which could represent the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse, are partly intended to be a warning over climate change.
