A couple have been left “disgusted” after yobs shot their beloved cat in the face.
Affectionate two-year-old Zebedee has had to have surgery to remove his left eye after he was shot at close range with an airgun.
Zebedee's owner Ian Ward, of Steeple Meadows, Southminster, said: “Both myself and my wife are disgusted that someone could do this to such an animal and we would hope that the culprit is found and the full force of the law comes down on them (up to six months in jail and or up to a £20,000 fine).
“We’re also worried for our other four cats.
“He’s lucky to be alive.”
