A developer is hoping to remove ‘visually harmful’ buildings and bring up to 30 new homes to Althorne.
An application for a screening opinion was submitted to Maldon District Council for land at Mansion House Farm, Burnham Road by Stacey Robins Planning.
The developer has requested the screening opinion to determine whether development would require an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The proposed site is between the Three Horse Shoes pub and the Mansion House care home.
Althorne is defined as a ‘smaller village’ in the Local Development Plan.
Developers state the land offers a sustainable location, serving housing needs.
