A burst water main has caused chaos for motorists as road works put in place to fix it cause long delays.
The water main, in Burnham Road, Latchingdon, was damaged at the weekend and three-way traffic lights are now in place while the repairs are made.
Essex and Suffolk Water began the works to repair it on Sunday but have admitted that it has taken longer than anticipated to repair due to the size of the affected area.
A spokesman said: "Essex and Suffolk Water would suggest an alternative route via the Lower Burnham Road.
"We would like to thank motorists in the area for bearing with us as we carry out the repair of the road."
The repairs are expected to be finished by tomorrow afternoon.
