Essex gardeners are being encouraged to take part in a national Royal British Legion campaign.
The Legion is calling on public to plant a “living legacy” for soldiers who fought and died in the First World War, as part of its centenary commemoration.
It will see tens of thousands of greenery planted in gardens across the country.
To take part, the public can go online and choose from a selection of trees, shrubs or roses priced between £6 and £30 and plant them in their garden.
A minimum of 50 per cent of profits will go directly to the legion.
To take part, go to centenarygardens.co.uk.
