MP Priti Patel is continuing to campaign for a new school crossing to be installed to support safety at Tollesbury Primary School.
Priti, who has met with the headteacher and parents, has been in contact with Essex County Council over the development of a scheme to develop a crossing, which would be manned by volunteers.
Priti said: “The introduction of a new crossing is getting closer and Essex County Council are currently working through the details.
"The enthusiasm and commitment of the school and parents to operate the crossing now needs to be matched by the council supporting them to deliver the new crossing.”
“I am continuing to work with parents and the council as it is important that a safe crossing is put in place this year before the winter when it gets darker earlier.”
