Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in which the suspect climbed in through a skylight window.
A burglar targeted a house in Browns Avenue, Runwell, stealing some distinctive items of jewellery between 1.30pm and 1.50pm on Tuesday, August 26.
The victim and their family were at home when somebody got into the house through an upstairs skylight window.
The suspect was disturbed, left the house and ran off across the field nearby.
The only description given of him is that he was wearing a dark hooded top.
The stolen items include a ring with an open mouthed teeth design on it, a yellow metal ring with ‘Donna’ written on it, another yellow metal ring with ‘mum’ written in white stones and a gold ring ‘Wayne’ written on it.
Cash totalling around £2,000 was also taken.
Dc Ray Hull of Chelmsford CID said: "I would like to appeal for anyone in the area who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward and speak to me.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered any of the jewellery items for sale.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Dc Ray Hull at Chelmsford CID on Essex Police 101 or they can leave information anonymously by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
