Young scientists won first prize in a forensic competition.
Benjamin Griffiths, Rachel Cottee, Chloe Smith and Georgia Dyerson, from Ormiston Rivers Academy in Burnham, competed against teams from ten other schools in The Salters’ Challenge.
The competition, held at the University of East London, was organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry and Salters' Institute.
The pupils had to analyse evidence left at a crime scene where gnomes were being planted in gardens to find the suspect and justify their findings.
