A housing association worker will be taking on The Three Peaks Challenge.
Stacy Hember will be attempting to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales within 24 hours next Saturday and Sunday.
She is an assistant treasurer and fundraiser for Maldon Housing Association, an almshouse charity with 57 sheltered housing flats for people over 60 with connections to the town.
Money raised will go towards converting bathrooms into walk-in shower rooms for older residents who need them so they can continue to live at home with the help of carers.
Over the last four years, Stacy has managed to raise enough money to replace six stairlifts and convert 17 bathrooms.
