A former pirate radio DJ has lifted the lid on the real story behind The Boat That Rocked.
Pirate radio ship Radio Caroline, which was anchored off Frinton from 1964 to 1968, broadcast just outside British territorial waters.
Burnham man Ray Clark, who now presents the afternoon show on BBC Essex, has now told the full story about life on board in his new book Radio Caroline: The True Story Of The Boat That Rocked.
The book, which includes forewords by former pirate DJs Emperor Rosko and Keith Skues, is the only one to chart the first 50 years of the cult pirate radio station.
It is available to buy for £16.99.
