A SOUTHMINSTER couple are celebrating their platinum wedding anniversary after reaching 70 years of marriage.
Don and Con Robinson met when he was driving steam engines and she was in the Land Army during the war, and they married on January 22nd 1944.
Now aged 91 and 90 they still live in Southminster and have three children, Robin, Martin and Andrew, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Describing their long and happy marriage, Mrs Robinson said: "We argue sometimes, that's how it is, but we just get on with it. I feel very lucky."
