A decision on a wind farm has been delayed again, eight months after a public inquiry was held into the plans.

The planning application for Turncole Wind Farm on the Dengie Marshes was submitted in June 2011 and rejected by Maldon District Council in October that year.

Developer RES appealed in May 2012 and a government appointed planning inspector, John Woodcock, held a public inquiry in April last year.

Eric Pickles, the Secretary of State of the Department for Communities and Local Government was expected to make a decision on January 10.

But a letter dated January 9 said he is now due to make a decision by February 27.
