Residents were left stuck in severe gridlock after a car crashed into a Maldon roundabout.
Fire crews used cutting equipment to free a man from his BMW after he smashed into a hedge yesterday morning at the junction between Limebrook Way, Spital Road and Wycke Hill.
He was taken to Broomfield Hospital non life-threatening injuries.
All three emergency services attended the scene and a road block was put in place while they dealt with the crash.
An Essex police spokesperson said: “We were called prior to 7am following reports of a single vehicle road traffic accident.
"On arrival police found a vehicle in the undergrowth on the roundabout, which had left the road.”
