Dorothy Alice Marjoram 1923 - 2021 Dorothy ('Dot') passed away at Broomfield Hospital on 1st January 2021 aged 97 years. Born near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire into a mining family, Dorothy first arrived in Essex during WW2 as a switchboard operator with the National Fire Service. Returning after the War to Maldon, she met and in 1947 married her late husband Herbert 'Snowy' Marjoram, working variously at St Peter's Hospital, for the National Assistance Board and as a school secretary. Resuming work after their two children started education, she eventually became cook-in-charge at All Saints School until retirement. Active thereafter in local community and dance clubs, despite progressive sight loss, she retained to the end a love of travelling, company, music and song. Dorothy leaves son Trevor, daughter Sandra and son-in-law Brian along with extended family and friends. Service to be held at Chelmsford Crematorium North Chapel, 2pm on 4th February. Coronavirus attendance restrictions apply; Webcast available. Family flowers only. Donations to Moorfields Eye Charity via https://dorothymarjoram.muchloved.com/
