Who’s next for closure?

First there was a rumour that the Main Post Office was closing which it did and it still stands empty with a pink planning notice on the front door.

The post office moved into Budgens.

Next there was a rumour that Budgens and the post office inside it was closing, which now seems a fact as a notice in the front window says it closing on March 27. The toilets behind closed and now there is a new rumour that Woolworths is going.

Will this become fact or is it fiction this time?

Jabberwocky is closing down.

What used to be Tops to Toes closed and so did the shop that took its place.

Up the top near the church stands another closed shop and there are others up and down the town.

We used to have two books shops - now we have none.

So if the closure of shops continues, will we become a ghost town or just a town mainly of charity shops, places to eat and estate agents?

Subway came and went. Who's next?
