Not even bog standard lines!

Were the road markings on Market Hill painted with a toilet brush?

Whilst "Googling" the up market areas of the country I noted that Surrey County Council states: "All yellow line waiting restriction markings will be 75mm wide except when used on high-speed roads (over 40mph) where they should be 100mm.

In conservation and other amenity areas and in agreement with the local borough/district planning department and the police, a smaller 50mm line may be used".

A spot check reveals a kerb side line varying in width and averaging about 125mm - no doubt to cater for Essex Boy Racers!

The Highway Code page 80 shows a neat, narrow version.

The Hydroblaster will now be required to get rid of everything and start again.

I assume - no doubt naively - that a sub-contractor will be held responsible and pay all extra costs. But I expect that we shall all pay as usual
