It has been announced the skies around Mersea Island are to become a stacking area for aircraft coming into London airports.

No respect

1:33pm Friday 29th February 2008

Page two of last week's Maldon Standard pictured states Maldon District Council has underspent by £300,000 and has allocated £200,000 to fund things yet to be identified, i.e. not within any current financial plan.

My dismay

10:55am Thursday 14th February 2008

I was disappointed and dismayed at the closure of the toilets in the White Horse car park. These toilets appear to be in good working order and maintained to a very good standard. Perhaps an explanation of the need for refurbishment could be given. Even if substantial refurbishment is required, I would have thought these were so well used that the cost could easily be justified.

Confused

10:52am Thursday 14th February 2008

I have noticed that Maldon Council has recently introduced car parking restrictions in the London Road and Highlands Avenue area, which are extremely confusing I had to drive round twice to see where in fact I could park for half an hour because I saw five different time restrictions in that one area.

Our eyesore

10:50am Thursday 14th February 2008

I must add my comments regarding the yellow line epidemic in last week's Standard.
