PICKLED ONION CONTEST

On Saturday December 8, a competition unique to Essex took place at the Kings Head in Southminster.
The annual pickled onion contest saw onions of all shapes, sizes and colours tasted first by the judges and then the customers, with Dan winning the first three places.
This competition has been running for more than 20 years and the Kings Head would like to know if there are any others like it in the area. Please phone 772216 with any information.
SANTA'S SWEET FUND
SANTA will be touring Southminster on Sunday December 23, distributing sweets to the children.
Santa will start at around 5.30pm and travel via Buttercup Way, Kings Road, High Street, Queens Street, Crown Way, Hillside, Coombe Road, North End, North Street, Newmoor Crescent, Station Road, Cherry Orchard, Tattersalls, Burnham Road.

OUR Christmas party was attended by 50 members who were served with a three-course dinner followed by tea or coffee.
A mother-and-son team entertained us throughout the evening with a variety of music. Many members joined in the Barn Dance and a great time was had by all.
Mrs Taylor thanked all the committee, especially Paula Neall and Mary Robinson, for all their hard work in making the evening such a success.
CHRISTMAS SERVICES
ON Sunday December 23, a carol service will be held at St.
Leonard's Church at 7pm.
On Christmas Eve, ChristChurch will hold a Candlelight Carol Service at 6pm and St Leonard's Church will hold Midnight Holy Communion starting at 11.30pm.
On Christmas Day, St Leonard's Church is holding an all-age service will be at 10am, with ChristChurch services at 8am and 10.30am at Burnham.
MUSIC EXAM RESULTS
