THERE were strong trail running performances for Tiptree Road Runners.

The fifth race in the Mid-Essex Casuals’ Quarter Marathon trail series at Chigborough Farm saw Paul Dellar take fifth place in 51 minutes ten seconds to move into second place overall in his age category.

Mark Lawes finished in 56m 50s followed by Tina Clarke and Jim Slater in 63m 54s.

Roger Duffield ran 68m 41s to take second place overall in the V70 category.

Other Tiptree times: Vicky Knight 69m, Anthony Knight 69m, Jody Reeder 69m, Simon Morgan 70m, Abigail Morgan 70m, Wendy Smalley 76m, John McVelia 76m. Earlier, Simon Morgan completed the Colchester Harriers trail in 54m.

Good conditions at the final race of the Harwich 5K series saw Matt Davey just outside his personal best in 20m 3s, while Roger Duffield posted a season’s best in 25m 56s.
