Burnham Ramblers begin pre-season training

BURNHAM Ramblers reported back for pre-season training on Saturday.

Nearly all of last season’s Essex Senior League squad were present, along with one or two who have not yet made their mind up about where they will play in the coming season.

Manager Keith Wilson is hoping to improve on fourth place and mount a credible challenge for promotion to the Ryman League.

Former under-18’s boss Mark Robson is the new manaager at League Two club Barnet and he brings a full first team to Burnham for the opening pre-season game on July 14.

Kick-off is 3pm and the club are hopeful of a large crowd for such an attractive fixture.

On July 21, Ramblers visit neighbours and newly promoted Southminster in the Ted Havers memorial trophy, with a 2.30pm kick-off at the King George V Park.

Ramblers’ other pre-season matches are at home against Kelvedon Hatch (July 26) and East Thurrock (July 31).

The season starts on August 4.
