TORQUESPEED Youth FC ended the season on a high note winning the Groupbridge Ltd League Cup Trophy.
In what was a tense final, Torquespeed overcame the heat and a strong opposition in Galleywood Youth FC, winning the match 2-1 on Sunday May 11 at Maldon Town Football Club, Park Drive, Maldon.
Both teams, who play in the under 15s Division Two Blackwater and Dengie Youth Football League,
were determined to make their
mark but it was Galleywood who
dominated and took an early lead.

Lewis Cook fired home an impressive strike within the first ten minutes.
Torquespeed did not let their heads drop though and were hot on the heels of Galleywood with a number of shots on target.
However, an early setback came when captain George Nixson had to come off with a knee injury after going in for a tackle.
Bradley Leather replaced him and the boys continued to pile on the pressure.
Their efforts were rewarded shortly before half time when they equalised.
A number of Torquespeed bodies were in the box but it was eventually given as an own goal.
After a close first half, with both sides putting on an impressive attacking display, it was Torquespeed who came out fighting after half time with Reece Downing taking over the captain's armband from Nixson.
Connor Leport scored a crucial goal just after the kick-off, looping the ball over Galleywood goalkeeper Daniel Matthews to inch a 2-1 lead.
The boys then defended their lead well but still pushed forward on the attack with shots coming from Ben Bird and Ross Forrest.
An impressive save also came from Sam Thompson in the dying minutes of the match.
Team manager Graeme Biggs and assistant manager Nick Hockney were both "over the moon" with the victory.
Speaking after the game Mr Hockney said: "The game was a credit to both sides who played in good spirit.
"It was pleasing to see that despite that early setback the team did not lose heart, getting the goals either side of half time was crucial to the outcome of the match.
"The players produced a display that individually and collectively they can be very proud of."
