Strong show from Tiptree Road Runners at Mablethorpe

TIPTREE Road Runners produced a strong team performance at the Mablethorpe marathon.
Tina Clarke set a personal best and Jim Slater broke the club V60 record, with excellent pace making by Phill Clarke.
The group ran an even paced two hours at the halfway point and continued at the same pace to see Tina home in four hours four minutes and 43 seconds, improving her previous best by 16 minutes.
Phill Clarke finished in the same time.
Jim Slater had a bad attack of cramp at 24 miles but still managed to set a new club record of 4h 18m 16s in his first marathon since 1981.
