Tiptree Road Runners have a succesful Round Norfolk Relay

TIPTREE Road Runners completed their most successful Round Norfolk Relay.

The club had a superb weekend at the Round Norfolk Relay, finishing 26th out of 58 teams, in the top half of the field for the first time and completing the course in the fastest time in four appearances.

The event, which follows the Norfolk boundary for 197 miles, is run in 17 stages of different lengths around the clock, with the early stages along the sandy, shingly North Norfolk Coastal Path.

In an event that attracted over 1,000 runners, Tiptree finished in a total time of 25 hours 39 minutes 11 seconds, 50 minutes inside their estimated time and more than two hours faster than the club’s inaugural run in 2009.

Although most runners covered different stages this year, three runners improved their times on the same stage compared to 2011 – Vicky Knight was 20 minutes faster, finishing as second lady, and Matt Davey and Simon Morgan were both around nine minutes faster.
