Maldon and Tiptree go top but Heybride Swifts falter

MALDON and Tiptree climbed to the top of the Ryman League division one north with an emphatic home win.
They beat Waltham Forest 5-2 at Park Drive on Tuesday night with an exciting finale with three goals in the last nine minutes.
Forest took the lead through Cory Whitely in the 19th minute before Jamie Guy equalised for Maldon just before half-time.
Forest retook the lead just after the break through Joel Palmer.
James Robinson equalised on 60 minutes and Guy, Dave Wareham and Ollie Berquez sealed the win at the end.
Grays moved up to second after a comfortable 3-0 home win over Heybridge Swifts.

Heybridge's scoring bonanza of 16 goals in their last three games ground to a halt as Joe Sweeney’s 15th-minute opener was followed by strikes from James Bunn, on 27 minutes, and Jake Hall, 14 minutes later.
