Electric atmosphere in the Burnham Ramblers dressing room

BURNHAM Ramblers assistant boss Dave Patient says the atmosphere in the club’s dressing room is “electric”.

The Leslie Field side have made a flying start to the new Essex Senior League season and are top of the table after last weekend’s 5-2 thumping of Stansted.

They are also through to the preliminary round of the FA Cup and face a trip to Soham Town Rangers on Saturday.

“Things are going so well and, while I’ve been in the game too long to get carried away, we’re certainly enjoying the moment,” said Patient.

Saturday’s victory was inspired by a Brad Hunter hat-trick and came hot on the heels of last week’s 1-0 success at Southend Manor.

“We produced another excellent performance against Stansted,” said Patient, who has been leading the side in the absence of boss Keith Wilson.

“The atmosphere in the dressing room is absolutely electric and I believe those ingredients can take you a long way.”

Ramblers began their League Cup campaign with a first round, first leg 3-2 victory at Southend Manor on Tuesday night.

The second leg will take place next week – unless a replay is needed after Saturday’s FA Cup preliminary round clash at Soham.
