MALDON’S Ladies hosted Benton Hall in a Harris Bowl Match.
Captain Jane Henderson was very pleased with her team’s 3-2 win, even though two of the matches went to extra holes.
Maldon’s men hosted the annual match against Heybridge Swifts.
Maldon retained the Sid Kiki trophy winning 4½ to 1½.
Maldon’s captain Ian Dancey played 108 holes in one day in aid of the Essex Air Ambulance and raised in excess of £1,200 with more to come.
Dancey began the day at 4am with Gary Rayner caddying for him.
Five other people caddied for the other five rounds which Dancey finally completed at 7.30pm.
A record of the stableford points scored throughout the day was totalled at an impressive 207 points, an average of 34.5 points per round.
The next day Dancey hosted his Captain’s Day in which nearly 70 people competed in a singles Stableford event.
The winner was Dan Skriabin with 40 points. In second place was Sam Cummins with 39 points.
Peter Bibby was in third with 37 points on count back from four others.
Young Sam Clark won the best back nine prize and the two nearest-the-pin prizes were won by Barry Wilsher and Nigel Semrau.
