SOUTHMINSTER Bowls Club played in the Hetti Atkins mixed pairs competition.
Six teams competed for a beautiful glass trophy, playing five games of six ends.
The winners were Terry Everett and Anita Glover and the trophy was presented by Neville Atkins and Southminster president Pauline Keppel.
Meanwhile, Southminster hosted a very close game on all rinks with Mark Cohen, the president of the Essex County Bowling Association, defeating Chelmsford and District BA president Bill Wright 109-106.
It was followed by a two-course meal, prepared and served by the Southminster ladies.
A very enjoyable day was had by all in beautiful sunshine.
In the Wednesday night Chelmsford and District BA League, Writtle A beat Southminster 74-43.
Writtle A gained eight points to Southminster's two.
