MALDON Bowls Club have elected a new president.
Jean Gill has become the first lady president in the history of the club, which was founded in 1808.
Brian Chalk decided to resign from his presidency after a year.
Gill has been a member of the Maldon club for over 30 years.
She has been a delegate for the club in the ladies' section and held other positions.
The club wishes her every success in her reign as president.
