TIPTREE'S Kyle Palmer has been nominated for a top award after impressing on the karting circuit.

The talented 15-year-old, who competes twice a month all over the country in club level karting, has been shortlisted for Karting Magazine's Rookie of the Year accolade.

Palmer, who races for his Team Marmalade in the Junior Rotax class, has had a fantastic season as a novice and has really made a name for himself at Whilton Mill and Ellough Park.

Racing against tough and experienced opponents, he finished an impressive fourth at Whilton as a novice.

And at times, the teenager has been only a tenth down from the quickest drivers.

He boasts podium finishes and front row starts at Ellough Park and is currently in the top-ten of the Whilton Mill Championship standings and is also third in the Ellough Park Championship.

The winner of the award will be the nominee that commands the biggest amount of votes.
