HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS boss Jody Brown says no stone has been left unturned in terms of preparation for tomorrow's FA Trophy first qualifying round tie at Kings Langley.

Swifts will start as underdogs against the Spartan South Midlands League side.

However, Brown believes his team can cause an upset and has done his homework on the opposition.

“We’re very well prepared," he said.

“We’ve watched them once and got a couple of videos of their recent matches.

“It’ll be a tough game but no-one expected us to go to Royston and win 4-1 (in the FA Cup).

“Last year we pushed Concord all the way in the Essex Senior Cup final and this season we’ve beaten Cheshunt, drawn with form team Brightlingsea and drawn with Bury, having been 2-0 up.

“We can compete with anyone. There’s no doubt about that.

“If we could go there and win we’d earn the club a lot of money and that would be invaluable to a club like ours."

Swifts look likely to be without skipper George Cole, who suffered a recurrence of his knee injury and had to be substituted early in the second half of Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Brightlingsea Regent.

“It’s a bit of a worry," said Brown.

“He’s our skipper and a very, very talented boy, but he had to come off and hasn’t been fit for three or four games.

“We thought the injury had gone but it clearly hasn’t and I don’t know how long he’s going to be out."
