SIX Dengie Hundred Runners took part in the Felsted 10k event.

The slightly undulating and virtually free-of-traffic course started and finished at Felsted School and was part of the Essex Championships.

Chris McDonnell picked up two awards - the over-70 trophy and also winning the vet 70 Essex Championships gold.

McDonnell finished in a time of 42 minutes and 12 seconds and he was followed by Kelvin Flutey in 54m 19s, Richard Carvey in 54m 23s, Barbara McDonnell in 54m 50s, Vicky Dash in 59m 35s and Jessica Dash in 1h 12m.

Steve Houghton was also in action, running in the Vitality London 10k race and finishing in 48m 52s.

At the Maldon Parkrun, Lydia Bazzard knocked six seconds from her personal best, finishing in 21m 24s.
