MALDON and District Cycling Club dedicated their Club 10 mile & 25 mile TT Championships to the memory of timekeeper Pam Harding who sadly passed away earlier this year.

It was the fourth instalment of the joint evening events and as an additional tribute, both the number one rider numbers were given to Pam for the evening rather than any competitors.

On the ten-mile course, it was no surprise to see ex-Maldon rider and now five-time British time trial champion Alex Dowsett (now with Movistar) take the fastest time on the night with a blistering time of 19 minutes 16 seconds.

Fastest solo Maldon rider was yet again junior Harry Wood, who flew round in a time of 24m 24s.

He was closely followed home by fellow Maldon rider Mike Tyas, with a time of 24m 36s, while on the mixed tandem, Chris and Jo York finished with a time of 24m 19s.

On the 25 course, it was Maldon rider Hamish Hore who again set the benchmark as the only rider to dip under the hour mark with a finishing time of 59m 58s.

However, Hore was closely followed by Maldon’s Steve Bass with a time of 14 seconds over the hour mark.

It was also a good night for Maldon’s James Farren, who recorded a personal best on the 25 course with a time of 1h 1m 27s.

For any cyclists looking to join the club or get into cycling, the club's led rides have now started.

They are run at a gentle pace and with all levels of cyclists welcome and more information is available at www.madcc.org.uk
