TEN teams battled it out for the honours at Tiptree Jobserve Bowls Club's triples weekend.

On the opening day, six men’s teams drawn from an entry of 18 players each played a game of six ends, against the other five teams in the draw.

The team of skip Paul Hills, lead Dave Sainty and club president Ray Powell (two) had an excellent day with some impressive bowling which could not be matched by their opponents.

On the Sunday it was the turn of the ladies, with 12 of their number drawn into four teams for the event.

Skip Steph Heard, lead Sue Trowles and June Collard (two) emerged victorious by a single shot, after playing their three games.
