SOUTHMINSTER Bowls Club ladies' captain Pam Lacey invited lady players from clubs around the district for a friendly game of bowls followed by a three-course meal prepared by the male bowlers of the club.
It was a sunny and warm and a good day was had by all.
Money raised from the Spider will be donated to the Burnham Lifeboat Captain’s Charity.
Meanwhile, Southminster hosted a game between the Dengie Hundred Bowling Association and Chelmsford and District Bowling Association.
It was a cool but dry day for the game with Dengie winning by 153 shots to 87.
