THE cold weather has brought a favourable change in the conditions on the Burnham on Crouch Golf Club course, a pleasant change from the rain.
Thirty-eight men played on Saturday in the January Tankard.
Results: Division one: 1 Mickey Leonard, 2 Dean Bewers 74, 3 Tony Swanborough 75 ocb, 4 Ron Stevens 75.
Division two: 1 Jamie Pounds 72, 2 Fenton Yeulett 76.
The ladies had very different conditions on the two playing days.
The previous Saturday was very wet and the Thursday cold and frosty.
The Saturday ladies scored well in the conditions playing the January Stableford.
Result: 1 Claire Lewis 34 pts, 2 Elaine Elphinstone 29 pts ocb, 3 Jean Bailey 29 pts, 4 Denise Howat 29 pts.
On Monday, twenty-eight Veterans took to the course with a chilly wind but some glimpses of the sun.
Results: 1 Dai Lester 35 pts, 2 David Frost 33 pts, 3 Ron Nethaway 32 pts.
