Ten-man Maldon and Tiptree lost out to visiting Phoenix Sport.

The Jammers fell to a Ryman League division north 3-2 defeat at Park Drive on Tuesday night.

Maldon were reduced to ten men when Gavin Greenfield was sent off with a straight red card.

Phoenix’s Russell Bedford then scored on 23 minutes from the resultant penalty.

But Maldon bounced straight back when Matt Lock’s cross was tapped in by Darren Mills at the back post five minutes later.

And it got better for the home side when Mills put them in front when he headed in at the far post following a great cross from Charley Edge on 41 minutes.

However, after the break, Phoenix got back on level terms through Ricky Freeman on 58 minutes.

And Freeman made it 3-2 to the visitors four minutes later.

Witham Town secured a solid victory against Redbridge at the Village Glass Stadium.

The home side took the lead on 17 minutes when Ryan Charles made it 1-0.

Lee Townrow then doubled Witham’s advantage on 39 minutes.

Townrow then made the game safe for the hosts when he scored on 85 minutes to make it 3-0.
