THE Forrester Park veterans played round one of their winter league.
It was a better ball stableford which was played in excellent conditions and a number of the teams returned exceptional scores.
The winners, with a score of 52 points, were Barry Trickett and David Curtis.
Reg Brunt and Dick Yelland were second with 47 points.
Richard Groves and Geoff Pettit beat a number of other pairs on countback to take third place.
The ladies played their October medal, which included the Ida Bunting Trophy.
The winner of the first division was Margaret Triston with nett 79, with Chris Myers second with nett 81.
The second division was won by Dawn Marriott with nett 79, which was the winning score for the Ida Bunting Trophy.
Glenis Adlington was second in the division.
Isabel Crawford won the third division with nett 81 from Susan Wilson who scored nett 87.
The nine-hole competition was won by Jenny Bose.
