BRDC ‘Rising Star’ member Harrison Scott and his AV Formula by Adrián Vallés team clinched all three class wins and the 2015 Rookie Championship crown at the season finale of their inaugural Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 campaign.

The final event on this year’s World Series by Renault calendar at the Circuito de Jerez attracted over 33,000 spectators despite extremely inclement weather.

Scott, from Althorne, showed his developing race craft and maturity in a trio of races that tested even his most experienced rivals.

Intermittent heavy rain on several occasions over Saturday and Sunday caused running to be punctuated by incidents, red flags and safety cars.

Despite challenging qualifying sessions, Scott produced clean and bold overtaking manoeuvres to sail to three class wins and two points scoring finishes, taking the chequered flags in tenth, 11th and eighth places respectively.

He concluded the overall 2015 Eurocup Formula Renault Championship in 12th place with 45 points which included a total of eight Rookie class wins.

Scott said: “I am really happy to have won the Rookie Championship; it was one of our goals at the beginning of the year.

“It was a tough season; there were highs and lows, but I was always close or in the points and have learned a tremendous amount with AVF.

“I would like to thank Adrian, the team, my manager Peter at VCM, for all their hard work.”
