Maldon and Tiptree lost a two-goal lead to be held to a draw with a last-gasp strike.

The Jammers were leading 2-0 at half-time at Park Drive in their Ryman League division north match against visiting Thurrock.

But the visitors were able to fight back to claim a 2-2 draw.

The home side made a quick start going 1-0 up on nine minutes.

David Segura took the ball from his own box to the other end of the pitch.

He fed the ball to Ollie Emsden who found Darren McQueen who then released Segura to score the opener.

And Maldon made it 2-0 immediately from the restart.

Matt Lock fired a right-foot shot from 25 yards that flew into the back of the net.

Thurrock did get the ball in the back of the net in the first half but it was ruled out for offside.

However, the visitors did get back into the game when Ross Wall pulled a goal back on 47 minutes.

Maldon though were put on the back foot when Hamish Galbraith was sent off for a second yellow card on 81 minutes.

And Thurrock made the most of their extra man advantage in injury-time when Ross Gleed scored the equaliser.

Brightlingsea Regent were held to a 0-0 at Great Wakering Rovers.
