Heybridge Swifts put up a great fight against visiting Chelmsford City in their latest pre-season friendly.
The National League South Clarets took the lead from the penalty spot after a foul by Damien Green at Scraley Road on Tuesday night.
Charlie Henry made no mistake with his spot-kick for a 1-0 lead on 17 minutes.
Chelmsford made it 2-0 on 43 minutes through James Walker.
After the break, Shamido Pedulu had two good chances to pull a goal back but they were saved by the keeper.
Ryman League division one north’s Swifts had the better chances in the second half but couldn’t find the back of the net.
