THE Carter Cup presented by club professional Gary Carter is always a popular competition at Five Lakes.

It is played from the white medal tees and the strokeplay competition always offers a good test of golf to all competitors.

Two players returned nett 74s, the CSS score for the day on this par 72 course, Barry Turner (17) and Malcolm Pook (6).

John Rogers (13) carded a nett 73 to be just outside the main prizes.

Third place went to Ian Cottee (9) with a nett 71.

Long time clubhouse leader Derek Monaghan (17) claimed second with a nett 70.

However, winner of the Carter Cup for 2015 was Alan Garnett (12) with a magnificent nett 68.

Three players returned gross 80s to compete for the scratch prize – Malcom Pook, Ian Cottee and Alan Garnett.

But it was Alan Garnett who claimed the prize on countback.

Jack Garnett and Dave Chignell scored twos on the par threes, both on the tricky 11th hole.
