Harry Clover battled to victory in Five Lake’s Roger Hyman Trophy.

Four players returned 36 points in the 18-hole stableford competition – Eric Howlett, Dave Parkins, Billy Coe and Gary Trim.

John McAleavey, Kevin Bradshaw and Danny Murtagh scored 37.

Third place went to Rob Gilgour (11) with 38, with Ian Kirkman (20) second on 39.

Clover (6) took the top spot and the trophy for 2015 with 40 points.

Birdie balls were won by John Mayle, Neil Shinwell, Eric Howlett amd Malcolm Pook on the fourth hole, Malcolm also picked up two more packs of balls by scoring twos on the 11th and 16th holes.

Tony Cook and Billy Coe won balls on the eighth hole.

Not to be outdone, Clover won balls by eagling the par five 18th.

In windy, overcast conditions on the Lakes Course, Five Lakes seniors contested the Aitchison Foursomes Trophy.

This Trophy, now played as an American Foursomes, was donated by member Peter Aitchison, the Colchester United winger during the 1951/54 seasons.

Playing conditions were challenging, particularly with the showery outbreaks that made the greens a little slow compared to recent outings.

The majority of pairings returned nett scores in the 70s but best of the day and winners with nett 67 was the pairing of Barry Painter and Brian Day.

Barry Turner won the Nearest the Pin at the fourth hole and Peter Ivey at the 16th hole.
