DANNY Buchan broke into the top ten in the official MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship test at Snetterton.

Now the Be Wiser Kawasaki rider is ready to repeat the performance at the next round of the season later this month at the Norfolk circuit.

Buchan held ninth place overall in the combined times at the end of the two-day official test as he continues his first campaign with the Be Wiser Kawasaki team, managed by 2011 champion Tommy Hill.

Buchan, from Burnham on Crouch, has scored a best result of an eighth place so far this season and is now determined to secure two more top ten finishes at Snetterton after his positive test.

Buchan said: “The Snetterton test was good for us as it was only our second in the UK this year and we are still trying to find that sweet spot on the bike.

“It was nice to have the two days to run through a range of changes that we wouldn’t have been able to try at a meeting.

“We know we still ideally need to find about a second a lap under race conditions, but if you look at the times the front four guys were recording they were all under the lap record.

“We are getting closer though and the test gave us a good chance to work with the suspension and changes and although it was nothing specific that made the difference, the balance in a few areas gave me that little bit more confidence.

“I feel that we are one hundred percent in a better position after the test and I feel I achieved a lot.

“I think we can push for two solid top tens at Snetterton and I would be happy with that as at Oulton Park I had the crash that left me feeling pretty sore so we never quite got there.

“But I am fine now and ready to go again, I want to be able to get stuck in and be absolutely peaking so we can get into the top ten and closer to the top five at Snetterton.”
