KEVIN Watson has set his sights on leading Maldon and Tiptree to promotion after being appointed as the club’s new manager.
The 41-year-old former Spurs youngster has taken over in the Park Drive hot seat after replacing Alan Kimble, who stepped down last week.
Watson is delighted to have landed his first-ever managerial role.
And the former Colchester United promotion winner is determined to transform Maldon’s fortunes, following this season’s 19th-place finish in Ryman League division one north.
Watson said: “It seems the perfect fit and it’s a great opportunity for me.
“This is where I’ve wanted to be for a long time and I want to progress.
“If that means taking the club along with me then so be it, because that’ll be good for everyone.
“I won’t be happy with just a mid-table finish – I want to be a success and get promotion."
