THE penultimate round of Forrester Park’s veterans’ section winter league was a combined stableford.
Terry Shuttleworth and Harry Whiteman took the win with 73 points.
Eric Coleman and Tony Hennessey were one point behind in second place, beating John Daniels and Bob Ryall on countback.
The ladies’ played a marked ball team competition where the runaway winners were the team of Margaret Triston, Mel Kuhl and Carol Manning with 45 points.
Judy Podd, Anona Straker and Diana Ketley were second with 38 points.
The ladies’ team in the Mail on Sunday competition lost the final game on the 19th hole to lose the match against Benton Hall 3-2.
The cold wet weather resulted in a depleted field for the men’s medal competition where Peter Andrews made light of the conditions to win the gold division with nett 66.
Roy Robinson scored nett 68 to win the silver division, with Eric Barker returning nett 74, the best score in the bronze division.
