YOU owe me one.
That’s the message from Maldon and Tiptree boss Alan Kimble to his players, heading into Saturday’s eye-catching home match against Needham Market.
The Jammers manager was left seething after last week’s 4-1 defeat at Wroxham.
The defeat left his side 17th in Ryman League division one north and still looking anxiously over their shoulder ahead of second-placed Needham’s trip to Park Drive.
Both sides have plenty to play for, for different reasons, and Kimble is urging his players to buck their ideas up after an “unacceptable” display in Norfolk.
“There were a few home truths at half-time and again afterwards and now I’m looking for a big reaction on Saturday,” said the former defender, who played for Wimbledon in the Premier League.
“I can’t condone a performance like that, but I’ve addressed the situation and hope the players learn from it.
“If we’re going to progress, we’ve got to do it together, rather than as individuals.
“I want the players to sweat blood for the team and feel they owe me, and the club, a performance on Saturday.
“They won’t let me down again.”
