THE Burnham on Crouch men’s section played their January Tankard and were glad to find the wind had dropped from midweek.

However, with thick frost on Saturday there were 18 temporaries and it was a non-qualifier.

The later players had an advantage as the ground softened.

Dave Hallett and Brian Roche scored 40 to gain maximum points and Daniel Munro and Chris Roberts had 37 to take second place.

On a cold but sunny Monday the veterans played the January Stableford.

It was a non- qualifier as temporary greens were in play.
